Class Summary:
These weekly classes will focus on developing dance, singing and acting skills at an advanced level for students who have reached bronze level of the Red Theatricals performance awards program or by invitation to students in grade five and six in preparation for them moving into the senior performance class.
Students are trained to become well-rounded performers. Students will begin by participating in a 30 minute small group class where they will work on advanced dance routines, improvisation and scene work. In the following junior class, time will be dedicated each week to the three disciplines: dance, singing and acting, to make sure students are strengthening areas they excel in as well as areas that need more development.
Students will work towards a larger than life musical performance at the end of each semester in a professional theatre with full costumes, props, lighting and sound which are included in the term fees. Students are offered the opportunity to audition for the lead roles, if they wish. All students will be cast in a role and will be included in all chorus numbers. Performers will also learn theatre etiquette and what is involved in putting on a full scale production.
